Sonja Max, MS, RD

Sonja’s current work is rooted in a deep connection with the natural world, her fascination with the biochemical effects of diet and lifestyle on optimal health, and a decade-long career in graphic design (yes, the color of your vegetables is very important!).

From Bellingham, Washington, Sonja develops custom design and nutrition-related solutions for a wide range of clients, and loves the opportunity to communicate a sustainable, health-related message when she’s not harvesting seaweed from her kayak. She writes and produces nutrition education materials, offers consulting for recipe development and menu design, she teaches nutrition and cooking classes and provides private nutritional counseling.

Sonja received a Master of Science (MS) in clinical nutrition from Bastyr University in 2010 and completed a dietetic (RD) internship at Oregon Health and Science University in 2011. She completed the Main Course culinary program in Seattle, and worked under acclaimed chef Colin Patterson at Sutra. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from the University of Washington, and has won many awards for her work during her career at Hornall Anderson Design Works.
